carroll shelby died, lil boosie not a murderer, and other new stuff this week

"I would like that to be known; these facts are in the summary which I think is a very good one." ~John Sherman Cooper
In the news today: Carroll Shelby recently died. He, as in yes that's a boy's name, he was 89 years old. That was quite an accomplishment itself but he also designed the famous Shelby Mustang. That link opens a window with pictures of that sweet looking car.

Also in the news, Lil Boosie was acquitted of murder. I had no idea he was charged with the offense or what it is that he raps about, but he's a free man now apparently. Oh, wait, no he's not. He's actually in prison still but on separate charges. They are drug related charges and my uninformed opinion of the situation is that the drug charges are trumped up too. I only say that because I personally believe all drugs should be legal and the market will regulate itself. Capitalist style.
Saturdays are typically spent catching up on the television shows that I watch but do not have the time to do so during the week. I don't have anything fancy like a "DVR" or "VHS recorder" so I'm forced to use Hulu. It's all right. I'm on the fence about the commercials they have even on their subscription service, but I imagine the kinks will be worked out soon enough over there. I believe strongly enough that it's streaming service will beat netflix's that I decided this will be my last month with netflix.

During Parks and rec this week, the election finally went down and the Leslie Knope versus Paul Rudd's character showdown came to a heated climax. In the director's cut version: Ron Swanson got drunk and gave advice, there was a recount, the chubby guy that I think spells "Jerry" strangely or has a strange first name and goes by his middle name screwed up, Anne was her usual engagingly beautiful self, and I think the season ended. I won't say who won but I'd imagine there will be a next season.

During Community, the group went to therapy after last week's episode where they were kicked out of school. I've been kicked out of schools and even better places than that before, so that's not a big deal. Abed's character was pretty interesting and it was kind of like a recap episode with not a lot of plot and mostly anecdotes. Kind of strange, like a live action Family Guy episode with Ryan Seacrest and Moby.

That is all for today, apologies if you were expecting more. I am currently working on an experiment, of sorts: javiwasabi.javiernelson.com where I'm trying to engage and befriend the internet (or skynet or google, the nomenclature is still up in the air). Think of it as a work in progress, kind of like the opposite of a video log or whenever the kids get on their webcams and talk about stuff. That, but better. In words. In the meantime, there is also fresh material to your right or conveniently located near the top of this page.
